Branding / Environmental Graphics

In collaboration with Atelier-Steelcase, I have developed this environmental graphics project for Nestlé Mexico's Information Technology (I.T) division.

The premise was to construct a dynamic, appealing, and colorful graphic identity that would imbue a sense of belonging to this department, not only in connection to its daily tasks, but also to the brand itself.

Concept

The brief posed an open proposal, as long as the letters I.T (Information Technology) were included. Though a logo already existed, it was suggested to craft a new one that would more humanely convey the concept of this division.

Consequently, the logo was constructed using the main letters, which, when overlapped, transformed into the icon of a person. This icon symbolized the merging of technology and information.

Within the same symbol, the use of a varied color palette represents diversity and unity among the I.T team members and the brand itself.

Another important aspect was to create messages that wouldn't rely on conventional letters or words, making them decipherable only by the I.T team members. To achieve this, we drew inspiration from the roots of programming languages and employed binary code.

By utilizing binary code, we used geometric elements to form words using ones and zeros, which translated into rectangles and circles. When combined with transparency and colors, these elements resulted in visually dynamic pieces despite their simplicity.

Some of the words used in the office's ambiance were: "We," "Make," and most importantly, "I.T."

Aplicaciones

For many of the graphics, we used transparent adhesive vinyl and printed identity elements in vibrant colors. This decision was inspired by the concept that the natural light entering through the windows would fill the office with color, resulting in an effect similar to contemporary stained glass windows.
