Temporada de Lluvias

Editorial Design

2022

Versión Español
For his first solo exhibition, "Temporada de Lluvias," kurimanzutto publishes a book that documents the artwork of Roberto Gil de Montes. His pieces, characterized by vibrant blues and sandy tones, evoke the beaches of Nayarit and other tropical landscapes. This editorial piece was crafted to faithfully represent not only the gallery exhibition but also the works that could easily transition from large formats to smaller pieces.

Roberto Gil de Montes' artwork requires careful observation to uncover details conveyed through loose and defined strokes. The atmospheres he presents are sometimes everyday scenes like beaches, sand, and water, while at other times they reveal uncomfortable realities. Hence, the layout design aimed to encourage viewers to take their time contemplating each detail. As they turned from one page to the next, they could truly grasp the full dimension of each piece.

Texts and images come together to create a rhythm where the texts serve as perfect companions for reading. One of the most interesting details can be found in the list of artworks, where scales and variations of the exhibited pieces can be appreciated.

Additionally, a chronology booklet of Roberto Gil de Montes was designed, aiding viewers in contextualizing a significant portion of the exhibition's material.
